QUESTIONS

HERE ARE SOME OF OUR MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT COMING TO OUR CLINIC.

  • YES! We don’t “just treat kids”, we welcome patients of all ages! Whether it’s a sports injury, a motor vehicle accident, or even post-surgery, we love to work with adults and seniors too. But fair warning, we plan to make your treatment just as fun!

  • You do NOT require a doctor’s referral to come in and work with our physiotherapists. Your first visit will always include a thorough assessment prior to starting care to ensure we know the diagnosis and we are safe to proceed. However, some insurance companies do require a doctor’s referral prior to covering the cost of the visit.

  • Here is our cancellation policy as of January 5, 2026.

Our goal is to ensure you are successful in your rehabilitation. To achieve the best possible outcome, it’s important to attend your scheduled appointments. We reserve the time in our schedule specifically for you, so we ask for your cooperation by making every effort to keep and attend your scheduled appointments. No-showing or late cancelling/rescheduling an appointment affects your treatment plan and recovery, and leaves an unpaid gap in your therapist’s schedule. This policy is essential for the sustainability of the practice and the therapist's livelihood, and is not intended to punish clients. The fee helps to cover the business costs and compensates the therapist for their time that was set aside specifically for your session.

Due to an increase in late cancellations and no shows, we have amended our policy. If you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, please ensure you let us know by phone call the day before during business hours (or the business day before a Monday appointment). You can also leave us a voicemail or send us an email during business hours the day before. You can also cancel the day before your visit on our online portal if you are unable to reach us. If you notify us after hours the day before, or call to cancel the same day of your scheduled appointment, it will be considered a late cancellation. As long as we are notified the day before your appointment during our business hours, there will not be a late cancellation fee.

Any reschedules or late cancellations for any reason on the same day of the scheduled appointment, including but not limited to illness, will be charged a fee of 50% of the appointment cost. No shows (failing to attend an appointment without notifying the clinic prior to the scheduled start time of your appointment) will be billed at the full cost of your booked appointment. If you have late cancelled three times within a three month period for any reason, the fee will be increased to the full cost of the missed appointment. This charge cannot be billed to insurance providers and must be paid before booking your next visit. For any issues restricting in-person attendance, you may switch to a virtual (online) visit to continue your care and to avoid a fee.

  • In most cases, Extended Health Benefit plans offer either direct billing, or allow us to bill on your behalf. Some plans cover physiotherapy treatment but have the patient pay directly and submit receipts to the insurance company for reimbursement. If you are unsure whether or not your plan will cover your visit, it is best to reach out to your benefits provider. If we are unable to direct bill for any reason, you will be responsible for the cost of your visits.

  • We offer physiotherapy for many different types of conditions. For example, low back pain, sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and neurological conditions are all commonly treated at our clinic. For our pediatric clients, in addition to all those listed above, we also treat infant torticollis, head shape, and developmental concerns amongst other things. No matter what your diagnosis, we've got you covered!

  • Our clinics offer fee-for-service, private sessions (with the exception of physician visits which are AHS funded). However, depending on your diagnosis and your situation, there may be a variety of different funding options available including private benefits, FSCD, and MVA funding. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer AHS funded physiotherapy visits at this time, however we would be happy to help those who meet AHS funding criteria find a clinic nearby that can help. Please contact our office to discuss what options are best for you!

  • In most cases, we book appointment times long enough to give you more time One-on-One with our therapists. Your initial visit at our clinic (or Assessment) will be anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes. Expect your follow up visits (or Treatments) to be anywhere from 30-60 minutes.

  • Please bring your Alberta Health Care number, any information you have regarding your condition (including Dr notes, Xray reports, etc), and any information needed to help submit your claim such as Extended Health Benefit cards, claim numbers, and Adjuster contact info (if applicable). In addition, you may want to bring comfortable clothes such as shorts or Tshirts to change into, but don't worry, we have some here if you forget.

  • Yes we offer services for all children including new borns, infants, toddlers, youth, and teenagers. See our Physio for Kids page for more info.
