AJ Bernard

MScPT BSc

AJ is a graduate of the University of Alberta, where she earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at UBC Okanagan in Kelowna. She enjoys working with people of all ages and helping them feel more confident in how they move, whether that’s in daily activities, sport, or play.

AJ works with individuals and families across all stages of life, including infants, children, teens, and adults. With a background in competitive dance, volleyball, and softball, she has a strong appreciation for movement and the physical demands placed on the body. She takes the time to understand each person’s goals, concerns, and everyday routines so that care feels practical, supportive, and meaningful.

AJ values taking the time to truly understand each person’s goals, concerns, and daily demands so care feels relevant and meaningful. AJ’s approach focuses on helping patients feel confident in their movement, supported throughout their rehab journey, and equipped with the tools they need to move forward long after their appointments end.

Ages Treated: AJ enjoys working with patients of all ages, including infants, children, teens, and adults.

Physio Special Interests:

  • Infant torticollis and head shape concerns

  • Gross motor development

  • Sport-related injuries and injury prevention

Care Philosophy: AJ’s care philosophy centres on creating a space where patients and families feel comfortable asking questions, actively involved in decision-making, and confident in their plan of care. She believes rehabilitation works best when patients understand why they are doing what they’re doing, and when treatment is tailored to fit their lives. Her goal is to guide patients toward meaningful progress and help them return to the activities that matter most to them.

Did You Know: Originally from Cranbrook, BC, AJ feels happiest outdoors, skiing or exploring the mountains. When she is not in the clinic, you will find her spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Oilers, or just relaxing at home with her cat, Cleo.
