Kari Harris

BEd, MACP

Hi! I’m Kari, and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist who enjoys working with both adolescents and adults in a genuine, safe and non-judgemental environment. I approach counselling with empathy, a sense of humour and a desire to empower clients so that they are able to build life-long skills and knowledge that will enable them to be masters of their own mental health. My approach is person centered and integrative with specialization in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy. Because of my years of experience with coaching and teaching, my sessions include a great deal of psychoeducation with hopes to empower clients to be their own advocates and to build the resiliency they require to be successful in life.

I have a special interest in sport psychology as well as treating individuals who have difficulties with interpersonal relationships, depression and anxiety issues. As a sports academy school counsellor, I have a wealth of knowledge related to the stress involved in school and athletic performance, assessment anxiety, emotional dysregulation, identity problems and both internal and external pressures that cause stress and burnout.
