These are the types of services we offer:

Our unique approach to physiotherapy will help and your family achieve success, however you define it.  Using a variety of tools and methods, our goal is to give you a program customized  to YOU, and ensure you have the tools you need to succeed.  Pain relief is one part, but understanding the problem is key to actually fixing it.  Expect education, exercise,  and "hands on" manual therapy as part of your personalized program.   No matter what the problem is, we can help!

Pediatric rehab

When working with kids, you need a different approach.  Here at Summerside Physio, we not only have the experience and the environment to help your child, we have the passion to help make it successful, no matter what their age.   Infant Torticollis, Head Shape, Developmental Delay, and bone and joint problems, are all examples of conditions we treat every day in patients as young as new borns!

Pelvic health

Pelvic health physiotherapy is a specialized area of physiotherapy geared towards identifying and addressing dysfunction in the pelvic floor muscles, low back, abdomen and hips.  While popular misconception suggests that urinary incontinence is normal, this is simply not true! Pelvic health physiotherapy has been strongly identified in the research as a first line of defense and treatment for urinary incontinence.  But pelvic health physiotherapy doesn’t just help urinary incontience. Individuals with pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladders, chronic constipation, pelvic pain, post- pelvic surgery, pre-natal and post-partum care also strongly benefit!

While each treatment is individualized to a patient’s specific concerns, typical treatments will include pelvic floor re-training, hypertonic muscle release and education regarding bowel and bladder habits.

Pet therapy

Pet Therapy is a common way to improve people’s moods and symptoms simply through positive interactions with animals. It has been clinically proven to help decrease pain, lower anxiety, lift the overall mood, and help decrease the need for pain medication.

On Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, our staff “Fuzzio-therapist” Rigger, a trained service dog, will be here to interact with you during your appointment as much or as little as you would like. Feel free to go say Hi, call him over, involve him in your exercises, or just have a cuddle during your session. He is very friendly, and excited to help make your day just a little bit better!

Please let our staff know if you’d rather not have any interaction with Rigger during your session, or consider another day or time for your appointment.
